Pushing Through Barriers...

A few months ago I went to a camp with a few dozen other Chiropractors as part of our coordinated effort through Maximized Living. At this camp we spent the weekend pushing ourselves, and each other, through physical, emotional, and spiritual barriers. Every day I look around and see people shelled in by the barriers they have created around themselves in their mind, their body, and spirits. At the very same moment I see the potential in each one of them and begin to think to myself WHAT IF they just pushed through? This concept is relevant in SO many areas in our lives that I found it the most fitting thing to talk about this week.

The thing is, most of us think pushing ourselves is going until we hit a barrier and then quitting. We run until we start breathing heavy...then quit. We go on a diet until we get a craving...then quit. We get married until things get tough...then quit. We do something GOOD for ourselves until our wants become a priority over our needs...then quit. I want you to stop for a second and think of the last time you did this. Think hard and ask yourself the question, did I grow from my decision? Now think what MIGHT have been possible if you hadn't quit. You see, our physiology, our neurology, and our psychology is BUILT on this principle. God created the most important parts of our very existence around this principle. We do not GROW unless we push THROUGH barriers, not TO them. When things get tough is exactly when we hunker down, re-engage, and ignite ourselves to push through it realizing that it is not our bad luck, our genetics, the other person, the he, she, or it that controls the outcome. Every single time you do this your emotional barriers break down, your self esteem increases, your brain begins to physically build new bridges and connections, and your body responds accordingly to handle the new circumstances. The Lance Armstrong's, Tiger Woods', Donald Trump's, Tony Robbins', and Billy Grahams' of the world DID NOT get to the top by quitting when it got tough. On the other hand, when we quit we sabotage what God has planned for us, we crush our hopes for achieving our innate potential, and most importantly we not only give up on ourselves but we give up on the known and unknown individuals who are counting on YOU to lead the way to make changes in THEIR life. And of course we must consider the things in our life that God sets in our path, but we neglect to acknowledge and quit before we ever get started. It's time YOU take back your life. It's time YOU change your environment. It's time YOU change your reality. The thoughts that come out of the depths of your mind become the very reality that you live in. It's scientific, philosophic, neurologic, psychiatric, and spiritualistic TRUTH. It's time to PUSH and break down the walls around your life.

PARADIGM SHIFT...
Tylenol is the LEADING cause of liver FAILURE in adults. Tylenol is the LEADING cause of liver FAILURE in adults. Tylenol is the LEADING cause of liver FAILURE in adults. What will you do the next time your child gets a harmless fever? What will you say the next time your friend, neighbor, co-worker, pastor, family member, or passerby at the grocery store mentions giving THEIR kid a Tylenol?

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT...
Today's nut-case, quackery, folklore, snake-oil treatment of the day is...Egg whites for fever.

Yes, and it makes sense even though it sounds silly. I discovered this when looking for alternatives for fighting high fever instead of succoming to the fear of tylenol-deficiency syndrome (aka: uncontrollable brain-damaging fever). Just take common ordinary eggs out of the refrigerator, crack them open, and smear the egg whites (not sure about the yolks?) in a pan or on a washcloth or towel. Then plant both bare feet of the child right into it. Not only does it do a great job of drawing heat through two of the best temperature conductors of the body, but it's fun and exciting for the entire family!
