The Path to Transformation...

I deal with patients on a daily basis. From experience I'll tell you the most frustrating thing is when you can see that someone really wants to make a change in their life, knows how, but still can't seem to break free. This entrapment I believe is one of the primary reasons why depression is so rampant in today's society. I want to cover the big reasons why this happens.

The first reason is misinformation. A little irony on this note, because I KNOW I've written a good newsletter when at least one person emails me about betraying the public, in which I'm usually referenced to a "credible" source run by either a drug company or the government. The fact is most of the information out there is meant to SELL. Fabricated science, confusion, and intellectual babble are the tools used to "whoo" you into submission. With that in mind you need to be very critical of all the "right steps" you are taking as to their true cost/benefit.

The other reason is motivation, or lack thereof. Anthony Robbins, the famed motivator and coach teaches that we only do things for two reasons, the gaining of pleasure or the avoidance of pain. It's obvious that the greatest shackles in life are those that bring pleasure. It's usually not until we hit the pain of consequence that we respond with change. To account for this you must place real relevance on the consequences of each decision you make, and realize the power of strengthening decisions to move in the right direction.

With a little discipline and work you have the power to transform your mind and body into anything you want them to be.

Our Loss of "Freedom"...

This week I bring you some VERY disturbing information. I had the opportunity to hear Gwen Olsen, author of Confessions of an Rx Drug Pusher, speak in Dallas over the weekend. Her topic was the targeted drugging of our children.

In 2004 President Bush signed into legislation the New Freedom Commission on Mental Health. Don't let the name fool you as this "New Freedom" is really a direct violation of your freedom and constitutional rights.

The first order of this commission is the mandatory psychological screening of US citizens starting with YOUR children. As you may know, once your children are labeled with a mental illness (ADHD, Depression, etc) it is part of their permanent record and will carry it with them the rest of their lives. Worse yet, this commissions underscored objective perpetuated by big pharma ties is to enforce medication of our children following "diagnosis" even against the will of the parents. If you don't think this could happen in our country, think again. Just look at what happened to Katie Wernecke and her family.

Furthermore, the test used to determine the stability of your childrens mental health, Teen Screen, was designed by physciatrists with questionable intent. This is absolutely unacceptable. You can be certain that I will fight tooth and nail to ensure my children are not subjected to unnecessary and unwarranted testing. What will you do? Will you sit back and watch it happen to "other kids", or will you step in before the fight comes to your doorstep?

Sick Kids Part II...

Last week we talked about the reason why your kids get sick and the action steps necessary to change the situation. Today we will cover the importance of why you need to practice extreme caution when using the "common solutions".

So what do you do about a fever? Isn't a fever bad?

The reason a fever sets in is most bacteria and viruses replicate the fastest at or near normal body temperature. The body raises it's temperature to slow down the progression of the infection and give your "pac man" white blood cells time to catch up. So why then would you want to lower the temperature if it is stable? According to research from the University of Maryland anti-fever medications such as Tylenol and Aspirin actually prolong the flu by 3.5 days average.

On a more serious note, you should know the facts before giving your kids tylenol or aspirin. Most authorities agree, and many countries mandate, that aspirin should not be given to ANYONE below the age of 16. This is because aspirin use in children is linked to deadly Reye's syndrome which essentially means destruction of the brain and liver.

Is Tylenol any better? Well it depends on if you would trade liver failure for fever. According to research from the University of Texas Tylenol is the leading cause of liver failure in the United States, this includes alcoholism as a cause.

So think again next time your kid has a fever. Is it really worth the risk, and would you like to see your kid back in school sooner?

Sick Kids Part I...

It amazes me how often kids get sick today. This is a two part topic I will cover more on next week. If you have kids I want you to think about this...

If you bought a brand new car and it pulled to the right while driving, started kicking smoke out the tailpipe, or otherwise broke down anywhere in the first 20,000 miles, what would you do? Would you accept this as "just the way cars are made", or would you go back to the dealer and say "something is wrong"?

You have to realize that kids are not designed to get sick. They have a brand new functional body with incredible potential. If you look into research you will find this clearly true, though simply using logical thought will bring you to the same conclusion. The scary thing is looking at our kids today versus the generations before us. The age group of 40-60 right now were "healthy" as a child population compared to today's kids, yet look at the health problems they are facing. As evidenced by autopsy research, most of the problems we deal with as adults actually begin as children. Is this a surprise? Our kids today are much sicker, much less active, much larger, and are on many times more medication than ever in history. If things don't change quickly it's a scary future for our children's generation and in turn the future of our country.

So why then do kids get sick? Silly question, the same reason most people get sick. Decreased immune system function isn't prejudice to age. The difference maker in changing the cycle is building your body's natural capacity to fight the "bugs". The best scientific methods for doing this are; proper nutrition i.e. fresh, raw, organic, vine ripened fruits and vegetables in mass quantity (Juice Plus is a great source), daily exercise to prevent stagnation in the body, avoidance of chemical poisons such as medications/cleaners/food additives/etc, and regular chiropractic adjustments to maintain your brains ability to detect and fix problems. Another important factor is (BOMBSHELL) letting your body take care of the bugs! This means getting rid of antibiotics and other drugs/shots that actually lower your body's natural resistance and fighting capacity. Now common sense is needed here but most bugs are not by any means deadly.

Next week we will cover why you NEVER want to give your kids Aspirin or Tylenol to "bring down a fever".
